Life is hard.

Spectacularly hard.

I’ve been asked to be a judge a this year’s Kawarthas/Northumberland Butter Tart Taste Off, meaning that I’m going to have to sit down and taste the absolute best tarts the area has to offer.

If that weren’t enough, I’ve also been asked to host the 3rd Annual Peterborough Downtown Market Iron Chef Challenge, meaning that I’ll have to hang out with some of the area’s finest chefs and — you guessed it, try their food.

I know that each and every one of you feel my pain.

But there is one thing you can do to make it better.  And that’s to come out to these great events and take part in the fun.

See below for details on each:

They will be given 1.5 hours to make up a delicious meal using all of the items in the basket. Market customers gain creative ideas on how to utilize market goods and are able to watch some of our areas finest Chefs at work. This year our defending champion Geoff Kirkland of Lantern Restaurant,  will face off against Lisa Dixon of Black Honey, Steve Elmhirst of Elmhirst Resort and one surprise TBA Chef.
